A Walk Along Belfast Bay Esplanade

I got a chance to have a thrilling walk along Belfast Bay with Siva. It would be an interesting walk if you could start on a late morning or an afternoon.

We began walking on this esplanade from Kinnegar Avenue. It was the time when the Corona Lockdown was a bit relaxed and few people were there, able to enjoy the much-wanted summer breeze.

We began walking on the esplanade and Siva reminded ourselves of the social distancing that we were supposed to maintain while on the walk. The walk began with the bay on our left and the blue iron grills on our right.

We also noticed the Hollywood Railway Station that was on our right.

When I looked back, I was able to have a glimpse of the Stenaline Ship that was anchored at the Belfast Harbour. I reminded myself, probably, this is the bay through which the famous Titanic ship, after being built, would have first exited in search of the wide-open sea for its first sail.

As we continued the walk, we came across a section of the esplanade where on the left there was a display of seaweeds and green grass with summer blossoms towards our right.

Looking further, I noticed the beautiful open space we were entering into, and it was a panoramic display of what that place could offer. Seashore, green grass and emerging little paths into the esplanade.

After passing a vast area of sand and seaweed, we came across a sharp bend that took us through a series of Tudor Style Houses that have a steeply pitched roof and the front-facing gables (the triangular portions of the roof), exteriors that are brick with decorative half-timbering that have a mock frame of thin boards with stucco or stone filling within them.

There was also a children's park on the way. So, if you are trying out this walk, then you could assure your kids with a promising time of play at the park on the way.

You could also enjoy cycling on this esplanade while enjoying the sea breeze.

A little bit further, I was able to notice the Hollywood Sea Park carpeted with green grass and noticed a few youngsters playing solo football and rugby. There were benches here and there and ample spaces between little woodlands.

Proceeding further, we came across the Sea park/front. There were children trying to fly their kites with a sufficient breeze. There were few also groynes on which people were walking until the edge in order to enjoy a better view of the shore while their puppies enjoyed swimming and splashing in the water.

While returning we avoided the esplanade and were walking on the sand enjoying the entire walk from a lower elevation and much closer to the sea.

Seaweeds on the shores.

Little bridges and blossoms.

And we saw the train passing by after halting at Hollywood Train Station. The Northern Ireland Railway connecting Bangor.

We walked to and fro until we could see the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club in a distance. The walk gave us 9000+ footsteps in the count. You could take some snacks with you, and I recommend binoculars.
