Sandy Row Sculpture | Female Culture and Identity | Belfast

This sculpture celebrates the female culture and identity of Sandy Row ( a street in south Belfast, Northern Ireland. It lends its name to the surrounding residential community, which is predominantly Protestant working-class.)

This sculpture erected at the entrance of Sandy Row also celebrates the generational contribution women have made to this community both in the family and workplace.

It is interesting to note that it is written in capitals "MOTHER DAUGHTER SISTER" at the feet of the sculpture and continues to lead to the famous song "Que Sera Sera..."
