A Food Tour in Koramangala, Bangalore


We should say that it is a food heaven. One of the important places in India where a person can find all different types of food within one layout; and that’s Koramangala. A food trail at 60 Feet Road in Koramangala would be the best suggestion to have an evening of adventure with various kinds of food on the menu. You may sometimes go out of options, looking at the variety of food you would find in this area. A late evening walk on this road would enable you to explore all these kinds of food given in a single platter.
The walk begins at Hosur Road, near Forum mall, where the 60 feet road begins. At evening 7:00 p.m., the road is flashed with colours of lights from the restaurants, decorating the whole road with variety. As soon as you begin the walk, you can find Pizza Corner, Café Coffee Day and Mad Over Donuts on you left side. On your right, Punjabi Grill.  Following that you will find Raheja Arcade. You have Gramin; a South Indian Restaurant offering delicious South Indian Dishes.
As you move further a little bit, on your left side just near Food World, you will be able to notice that there are few food stalls such as Burger Man and Corn Stall. Soon after that, on the same side you would find Shree Mithai Restaurant. Now you are left on this road, with all these options. It is tough to decide. It depends on what you really want to enjoy first. Since the walk route is flexible with your tastes, you can begin in anywhere you want; any restaurant or any food which you would like to try.
Once you pass the petrol station, you would find another Café Coffee day on your left and followed by Adyar Ananda Bhavan and Udupi Sagar. They both are another typical examples of South Indian Food restaurants. These veg restaurants, throughout the years have been famous for their maintenance of good quality of food and also great customer care. You feel satisfied eating in such places with the amount of care shown to each customer, which is a rare thing in nowadays. Apart from foods and snacks, these restaurants also provide fresh fruit juices. They are followed by the new addition, Cake Yard, where you get cakes with special recipes such as Black Forest and Butterscotch. On the next road, the 1st main, you can take a left and checkout the places such as Sweet Chariot, Biryani Paradise and Koramangala Chutney; an Indo-Oriental Restaurant. Just above this Restaurant you would also find Corner House Ice Cream Shop. You can have this place as your last destination in this walk. You get some of the best ice-creams in the city. Death by Chocolate served at this place is one of the famous ice-creams and Mango Ice-Cream during the Mango season. As you walk a little further on the same road, there is Ammi’s Biryani, Aalishan Restaurant and also a Bengali Sweet Shop named Banchharam. Here you would be getting curd in small clay pots with various flavours added.
As you again get back on to 60 feet road, you would find Cool Roll Burger Stall on your left, just before New Shanthi  Sagar, which is again a veg restaurant with an energizing filter coffee provided.  On the opposite side you find G. Pulla Reddy, offering pure ghee sweets.
For the next few food stalls you have to walk down the road a bit further. You would be passing Sapna Book Stall and few other branded cloth showrooms. Some hundred meters from there, you would be able to see, many number of individual mini stall on both the sides of the road. Momos, steamed corns, Gobi Manchurians, Paani Puris, Bel Puris, Sandwiches, ninety nine different kinds of Dosas, fresh lime juice, sugar cane juice, samosa are few of the many foods sold in those stalls. The stalls extend until Bethany High School. You will be making a turn there and would return back on the same road which we traced earlier until you reach Sapna Book Shop again. On the way back, you will find Prasanna Ganapathi Temple and also Amarnath Park on the opposite side. You can spend some time relaxing in that place.
Again from there you move on and come back to the same junction where you earlier made a right turn towards Sweet Chariot. Now this time, we’ll be making a left turn, towards the HDFC Bank side, on 1st cross road. You have some of the most famous restaurants in Koramangala in that section. Meghna’s Foods offering Andhra style Biryanis, Empire Restaurant, Barbeque Junction and Goli are few of such places. You would also find fruit juices nearby. There are also Chinese restaurants such as Chungwah and Momos (just on the next road) and also Tibetan Mall’s top floor where you get Tibetan food with a rich Tibetan cultural exposure. One of the latest additions to the place is the Mac Donald’s Branch in that area. You can go by any order mentioned above; depending on your taste for food.
**A late evening walk would be the best suggestion and also to end it with a grand dinner.
**The walk will take some 2 hours to complete; if used maximum of the opportunity.
**From Majestic Bus stop, 356 bus route (near Forum Mall) and from Brigade road G3 bus will take you to the point we start.
