My Lecture on Prosthetic Memory at The American College, Madurai
I was privileged to visit The American College, Madurai, and deliver a lecture on Prosthetic Memory at the Binhampton Hall. With its rich and proud history from 1881, the prestigious institution opened its arms to host this event and invited me. With a lecture hall filled with postgraduate students, candidates of philosophical studies and the eminent academics of the Department of PG & Research in English, I was high in my spirits as I delivered my lecture. The event's details and proceedings were nostalgic as they took me back to my Christ University days.
My lecture was followed by a Q&A session where students and faculty raised questions that led me towards further clarifications on this relatively new concept in memory studies. Thereafter, a fellowship lunch was hosted by the Head of the Department, where all the faculty members joined me. Once done with the lunch filled with typical Madurai hospitality, I was taken on a campus tour by Dr. V. P. Sagimaynonathan, the Head of Undergraduate Studies in English. I witnessed the pride that The American College carries as one of the pioneers of setting standards for Higher Education in India.
